Looking at the Core Handbook, I realized that most of my classes this semester were core requirements. I am currently taking this First Year Seminar, which is required for GUST students. I am also taking an Intro to Environmental Issues class, which is required in the first year of UNE classes. I am also taking General Chemistry and Ecology/Evolution of Marine Organisms, both of which have labs. These two classes also fulfill the laboratory science course requirement.
The Core Handbook expresses an interest in students being knowledgeable in the world and environment, and with my class selection, I believe that I will become more informed about the changes and affects that people have on this world.
My two questions about the core are:
- Do any of the core requirements overlap? Under section VII, the requirements for Exploration Courses and Human Traditions offer similar courses.
- Is there any contact information offered for the “Core Curriculum Committee or the CAS Dean’s office” (Section VII in The Core Curriculum Handbook)? There was nothing listed under the title information.
