During this workshop I learned a different way to understand content in an easier way than I had been before. What I am used to is reading the entire assignment, and then rereading it for understanding. Professor Drown taught us to look for key areas that would give a basic understanding before going into the entire reading, like being able to ‘skim’ the content before doing a ‘deep dive’. We also went over what a synthesis table looks like and its important uses. This method will be very helpful in writing the essay assigned in the FYS course.
