For this event, I went to the George and Barbra Bush Distinguished Lecture Series. Jean Becker was the main speaker for the event, she wrote a book on George Bush, documenting their time when she was his Chief of Staff. In this lecture, Jean Becker shared many great stories and highlighted President Bush’s time out of office.
What I learned is that a President still does many things after they leave the White House, their job is not necessarily over once their term comes to an end. I did not know very much about President Bush personally before going into this event, and I got to have a preview of what the man was like, which was a unique experience.
